ISFH CalTeC – Reference lamps

ISFH CalTeC offers calibration of standard light sources, with a focus on 250 W tungsten-halogen lamps.

Our calibration procedure

At ISFH CalTeC, light sources are calibrated using the substitution method, which includes the following steps:

1. Precise positioning

  • The halogen lamp to be calibrated is positioned 300 mm in front of the sensor head of a spectroradiometer.
  • Positioning is performed using a precision micrometer screw between the sensor and the lamp’s reference plane.

2. Optical axis alignment

  • A bidirectional laser ensures that the lamp filament and the detector are perfectly aligned on the optical axis.
  • The alignment is performed perpendicular to the detector’s input surface.

3. Optimized measurement conditions

  • Minimization of stray light effects
  • Quantification and control of all measurement uncertainty contributions
  • Use of a specially developed low-uncertainty measurement procedure

Traceability and applications

Calibrations are performed using a fully characterized precision spectroradiometer.

We deliver high-precision reference light sources for:

  • Calibration of spectroradiometers
  • Research and development
  • Lighting technology and photometry
  • Quality assurance in photovoltaics
