ISFH CalTeC: Solar irradiance sensors

Our calibration services at a glance

 Irradiance sensitivity measurement
→ Sensor response at defined irradiance levels (e.g. 100, 500, 1,000 W/m²)

  • Spectral responsivity (SR) measurement
→ Wavelength-dependent sensitivity in accordance with IEC 60904 standards
  • Measurement uncertainties & traceability
All calibrations are provided with full uncertainty specifications.
Our primary references are calibrated by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany’s national metrology institute.

Calibration under standard testing conditions

Standard calibrations are performed at:

  • 25 °C sensor temperature
  • 1,000 W/m² irradiance
  • AM1.5G spectrum (AAA solar simulator)

Calibration at variable irradiance levels

For sensors with non-linear response characteristics, we offer calibrations at intensities ranging from 200 to 1,200 W/m².

Spectral mismatch correction

To minimize measurement uncertainty, spectral mismatch correction is essential.
That’s why spectral responsivity (SR) determination is a key part of our calibration procedure.
