This project evaluates commercially available and new inspection methods for photovoltaic systems in terms of their technical benefits and financial costs. The technical and financial benefits of using artificial intelligence will be assessed to identify ways to efficiently perform the inspection and maintenance of photovoltaic systems under cost pressure. In particular, newly emerging types of defects in current solar modules will be evaluated, and recommendations will be made on how to address them during inspection and maintenance.
