Solar simulators
Solar simulators are a core element in the development of solar energy technology. Be it photovoltaics, solar thermal energy or photovoltaic-thermal systems. A central question is how much of the incoming sunlight is converted into electrical and/or thermal energy.
Both constant light sources and flash-based sun simulators are available at ISFH for characterization and, together with the corresponding contacting units, the following parts and components can be measured and tested:
- Silicon solar cells with an edge length of up to 210 mm (also accredited if required)
- Tandem solar cells with an edge length of up to 50 mm
- Photovoltaic modules with a size of up to 1600 mm x 1050 mm
- Solar collectors and PVT collectors (incl. wind simulation) up to an area of 5 m² (Further details can be found in our CalTeC area)
