M12PV
M12 photovoltaic research infrastructure as a contribution to technological leadership in the production of silicon solar cells
Mar 01, 2024 – Feb 29, 2028
The project is funded by the zukunft.niedersachsen program, the joint science funding program of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and the Volkswagen Foundation.
In the “M12PV” project, a state-of-the-art research infrastructure for the production of highly efficient crystalline silicon solar cells is being set up at ISFH's SolarTeC. The equipment and measurement technology to be set up, together with the existing infrastructure, will enable the research and optimization of mass-produced solar cells and PV modules with state-of-the-art measurement technology and digital process control.
The infrastructure is designed for research into the production techniques of highly efficient single silicon solar cells and silicon solar cells for use in tandem solar cells. All systems can process or measure silicon wafers with an edge length of up to 230 mm.
