Auf der 46. IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC) wurde Dr. Robert Witteck für seinen Beitrag mit einem „Best Student Presentation Award“ ausgezeichnet. In seinem Vortrag diskutierte er UV-stabile Oberflächenpassivierungen für Silizium-Solarzellen, damit diese effektiv in PV-Modulen verbaut werden können, die UV-transparente Materialien für die Verkapselung einsetzen (UV-stable surface passivation for crystalline silicon cells in solar modules with UV light transmitting encapsulation materials).
Die IEEE PVSC fand in diesem Jahr in Chicago, Illinois, statt. Es wurden über 900 Beiträge vorgestellt, aufgeteilt auf 12 Themenbereiche. Dr. Robert Witteck päsentierte seine Arbeiten in Area 9: PV Modules and System Reliability.
