This year’s annual conference of the ForschungsVerbund Erneuerbare Energien (FVEE) (Research Association for Renewable Energies) will be held under the motto “Innovations for the energy revolution”.

In order to achieve the goals of the energy turnaround, appropriate technologies must be available and the necessary social acceptance must be achieved. Within the last year, the FVEE carried out a project for the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) to carry out a systematic inventory of these technologies in order to assess how individual technologies can contribute to the transformationinto a sustainable energy supply system, but also to obtain information on remaining gaps that will require increased research efforts in the future. In their presentations, the FVEE experts will give a broad overview of the state of the art in renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency, networks and storage. In addition, socio-economic criteria such as job effects, industrial value creation and cost efficiency are also addressed. For the ISFH, Dr. Federico Giovannetti will present the state of the art in solar heating and cooling technologies as well as development prospects for the future in this area.

FVEE is a cooperation of non-university research institutes in Germany in the field of renewable energies. With the aim of achieving a sustainable energy supply, the member institutes research and develop new technologies for the use of renewable energy sources in concert with industry. The ISFH has been a member of the FVEE since 1995. The FVEE organises conferences and workshops for the public on solar and renewable energy research and discusses the future opportunities and perspectives of renewable energies.
