Workgroup Heat Pumps

Heat pumps connect the research groups for electrical and thermal energy systems. This working group faces interdisciplinary questions regarding the optimal operating behavior and component selection of a heat pump. The focus is on the inner mechanisms of the heat pump, including refrigerant, thermodynamic cycle, components, and control. For theoretical analyses, a dynamic simulation environment based on Modelica is available. In practice, test environments can be used to characterize air/water and ground/water heat pumps.
